This tour is designed for the ones that would like to have a different and original view of Paris. Far away from the "classics" Eiffel tower, notre Dame or other main sites, Deluxe Drivers will drive you into a joyful and authentic Paris with romantic, typical and wonderful sites. Starting in Montmartre, we will take time to visit this unique quarter joining the Pigalle Street. Then we'll have a fresh walk under the chesnut trees along the Canal Saint Martin. Montmartre and Pigalle
The names of Montmartre signifies "mount of martyrs" because by tradition it is the place of martyrdom of St Denis, the first bishop of Paris (late 3rd century) and his companions. From in front of the Basilica, you can see the whole city of Paris. A visit of the Dome at a height of 200 meters above sea-level provides a panorama of 50kms all around. It is still a place of pilgrimage.
The Canal Saint Martin
The canal Saint Martin which links the Bassin de la Villette to the upstream end of the Seine 25 metres lower down in altitude terms runs underground for 2 km of its 4.5 km length, it was opened in 1825. Added to its romantic footbridges and mysterious vaulted tunnels, the poetic atmosphere of its banks lined with century-old chestnut and plane trees makes the Canal Saint-Martin one of the key and unknown tourists spots in Paris.
La butte aux Cailles
This quarter of Paris is so picturesque and different from what we are use to see in Paris. It is a real village and typical local spirit where history is all around you. It is quite a small place with so many café and restaurant, like you find in Provence or around Lyon. No more rush, just enjoy these streets, watching old men playing Bacchi Ball in the shadow of the Peupliers...

The Manufacture continues today to produce tapestries for the "State-owned-furniture", making work of contemporary artists. But like to the origin, a workman weaving on a trade of high wrap make one square metre of tapestry in one year.
